j0hnstew is a protected account - could you try unprotecting your tweets and then try again?

I will try doing that but do you know if there is a way for an individual to access their protected tweets through the Twitter REST API?

Protected tweets are on Twitter's end unfortunately... I can't see a way around this. An old issue but closing as I'm pruning the old issues.
