This is most certainly not worth the hassle that would be involved. OptiBot currently has almost 60 separate embeds, all of which would require a complete rework to use this new callback-based icon system. It would actually be easier to just create more icons with all 3 possible colors.

This could potentially still be done, if the icons are all composited during boot. To save time, these images could then be saved to disk, meaning all compositing is done only once for every icon and color.

Definitely not something I want to get into right now while working on this last major update for OptiBot 2.0, but it's something that might be kind of neat in a future update.

Unfortunately, now that icons are stored entirely on Discord's own servers via server emoji, this is no longer possible.

looking back on this idea almost a year later. all these issues are incredibly easy to solve now that i have a much better understanding of node and JS as a whole lol
