Thanks for a very thorough issue @SylvainMarty. req.bodyParam() only supports key=value syntax. I'll create an issue for JSON support.

I've thought about it (while implementing it), and I don't think this is a good feature. I will update the example to use an object-mapper.

Javalin has an optional dependency on Jackson to do req.bodyAsClass() and res.json(). In this specific example I'm using jackson-kotlin:
