I believe the issue here is that Pilmoji determines line spacing differently than PIL does:

Pilmoji increments y by font.size + spacing, however Pillow increments y by determining the text height of A + spacing.

I see. Is there some way around this though? All I really want to do is get the height of Pilmoji's text.

Use pilmoji.getsize instead of Draw.textsize - I believe they take relatively the same parameters.
