Example: you save "1" (str) and returns 1 (int). This does not in any way meet the standard behavior and number of projects in production have had unexpected problems due to unexpected conversions. The original library tries to use atomic updates of redistribution, and for that you need to save data in clear and not serialized. And this is what causes these failures. Cache systems are not for that, if you need some specific redistribution, use a direct connection to redis.
