It was not possible to change growl target host, but it should be ok now (tested with macos growl v2.1.3).
Just grab the latest version 0.7.1 and use property notifier.growl.host
. You can set password if needed too.

I've struggled a bit with making maven to see the extension. It was due to wrong assumption about M2_HOME location. For reference this can be found with:
mvn -X
in the Maven home:
section

It is also available with mvn --version
.
But I refer to $M2_HOME as described in the official installation guide: http://maven.apache.org/download.cgi
So growl host customization is working as expected for you ?

Reference to $M2_HOME is fine. I guess that it's just something non standard about my maven installation that I have this variable empty, and maven home is /usr/share/maven. Or this is the way apt install it on ubuntu.
