The EVW3226 uses an Intel Puma chipset (ARM), while the EVW32C is based on a Broadcom chipset (MIPS), so a firmware exploit for the former is unlikely to be applicable to the latter.
That said, the EVW32C's GatewaySettings.bin is supported in the latest version of bcm2cfg. You could try the following (not guaranteed to work):
bcm2cfg set GatewaySettings.bin userif.remote_acc_methods +telnet
bcm2cfg set GatewaySettings.bin userif.remote_acc_methods +ssh
bcm2cfg set GatewaySettings.bin userif.telnet_ipstacks 0x12
bcm2cfg set GatewaySettings.bin userif.ssh_ipstacks 0x12
bcm2cfg set GatewaySettings.bin userif.remote_acc_user "username"
bcm2cfg set GatewaySettings.bin userif.remote_acc_pass "password"
from bcm2-utils.
