This is already done for entropy_helper and loopsigma_helper.

It doesn't make sense in tntype_helper, conjtest_helper, cfbraid_helper, since these rely on external C++ libraries.

It could be done in compact_helper. It would be very slow and it would be tedious to make the two outputs agree.

Putting this on hold until it becomes relevant.

We have more and more MEX files. It's probably time to start thinking about a utility function (in +util) that handles the existence/absence of mex files gracefully and uniformly for all files.
