I'm open to suggestions on how best to display these options. I'm thinking of making it wait a few seconds, then scroll to the end automatically. Each time a new panel is focused, the options are reset to the left again. I don't want to introduce a new keybinding for it, because that will only add to the original issue haha. I'm open to suggestions on this :)

LOL good point. Spacemacs solves a similar issue by

  1. allowing for multiple lines in the hints window
  2. making sure the "[C-h paging/help]" is always there on the first page, and when you press "C-h" you get a new page with hints like "n -> next page, p -> previous page, etc." (see photos below)

If you're set on not adding extra key-bindings and keeping the hints window to one line, then I think the scroll functionality is the obvious option.

yeah that looks good to me, perhaps a new popup panel that's triggered on hitting 'H'. If somebody could put up a PR to that effect, would much appreciate! Otherwise I'll get back to this when I've got the time :)

I think it will be resolved after merging #234

#234 fixes this issue by using a dropdown menu for each of the panels which contains keyboard shortcuts alongside the menu item.
