I am not sure what the error is here, it's hard for me to debug these types of errors since they are difficult to reproduce.

Hi, I am getting the same error while I try to mass clone student repositories to my local. Any resolution on this yet?

The only suggestion I can think of is to create a personal access token and to try using this instead of your password. Given that this does not seem to be a common problem, I do not think that this seems to be an issue with the shell script.

Just commenting to say I had this same error, and the personal access token fixed it for me.

the problem is likely in the buttons you need to select when creating your PAT. go back and make sure that when you created your PAT you gave yourself appropriate permissions. make sure you've selected all of these (and feel free to select the much longer set of boxes, it won't hurt!):

I'm using a PAT with all the rigth boxes ticked and still get the same error (using Windows Git Bash).
