This can be done by starting toxic with the -f flag. Or did you mean something else? I'm not familiar with the Bitcoin client.

you can generate as many IDs as you want, each for a different purpose, and use which ever one you want without restarting the client

@benwaffle a single id = a single toxcore instance = a single user account. Tox is not designed to have multiple ids per user account, as bitcoin does with its addresses. The way toxcore is designed, whatever solution toxic comes up with, it pretty much won't get any better than running multiple toxic instances.

File issue to the toxcore if you wish.

As nurupo stated, toxcore doesn't deal with multiple private keys, like Bitcoin.
