Pandoc doesn't know anything about this particular environment or package.
In principle we could build support for it into pandoc's LaTeX reader, but in general we don't try to support every package out there -- we couldn't possibly do that.
Best approach is to work around the issue by inserting a small renewenvironment into your document that will change this into something pandoc can handle:
\renewenvironment{wrapfigure}[2]{\begin{figure}}{\end{figure}}

Hi @jgm , thank you for the swift response. By using the \renewenvironment command I presume that would mess up my original latex (which I render to pdf). Is there a way to do this redefinition as a preprocessing step passed to pandoc?
