Hmm, I'm not sure. This question my be better suited for the Grunt project.

Sounds great, thanks. But just FYI, I can successfully implement error handling on other tasks using try/catch blocks. I just can't catch errors when the error involves grunt-exec. The fact that the problem is isolated to grunt-exec made me think it was a grunt-exec issue.

That's probably cause grunt-exec executes the shell command asynchronously, so if an error was thrown, it wouldn't bubble up to your try-catch block.

I just went ahead and used grunt.file.exists to check if the file exists
before trying to execute. That solves the problem. As an aside, thanks for
mentioning async; that helped me solve another unrelated problem.
