code vs. convention

Quite often the term 'convention' is used simply to refer to the arbitrary character of a relationship. I would suggest that in these cases 'code' is used, and that 'convention' is used when it is clear or required that the code is also shared between different agents

The entry for information links to organic information, that is sequence information. But it is sometimes also used in more general another sense, e.g. in the entry for "Brain's first modelling system" (where sensory information is meant)
