i have not run it for 5 hours so i cant tell you what to expect for that long. but i think resetting is pretty simple (cancel and restart).
i generally leave it running til i add new files, because lite-server and most file watchers are not good at picking up new files or folders. so i cancel and restart it.

I walked away from my box last Friday and without even using it over the weekend I come in to the "out of memory" error and so far today (after 3 hours) I've been unable to get it to run successfully again. I too have a simple 1 page angular 2 app with 2 components.
FWIW, I don't believe that "stop it and restart it" is an acceptable resolution to this issue. After working with angular for two weeks so far, I'm losing faith that this is a viable solution for our organization. CPU use is out of control in short order as is memory. Not good at all.
