I'm not using brew usually, it was only to get other people easy access to the working encfs version. Last time I looked brew was not using the latest fuse project on OSX , so it was two things to fix and I'm not into brew at all.

I have asked about this on the brew list. The issue is that brew supports fuse4x currently, and it conflicts with osxfuse (both are derived from fuse and have some of the same file names). Currently fuss4x is much easier to build and work with in the way brew typically works. fuse4x has stopped development and is supposedly being merged into osxfuse, so eventually brew will have to switch over, but fuse4x works for now. The developers are waiting for osxfuse to provide better build tools (apparently the current ones are terrible). Personally I use this formula because I need osxfuse for another program and so can't brew fuse4x.

I'm struggling to figure out severe memleaks and instability. I'm not quite
sure which component does that, or if they somehow conflict with
.dylib/.la/.pc provided by bitcasa for osxfuse. I used your formula before
and it seemed to work, but right now I'm not sure what's wrong :\

Ok. Right now I'm a happy user of latest 2.6 osxfuse via installer (probably bins inside), bitcasa (using osxfuse) and your patched version of EncFS.

All seems to work smoothly.

Where did you get this patch from ? Have you reported this mac-related issue at https://code.google.com/p/encfs/issues/list ?

I did report it and sent the patch to the original author who said he was fixing that issue.

And I did the patch myself after figuring out that encfs was not correctly functioning for rsync.
