I much prefer your suggestion, but then I think we've become too spacey in general. How do you propose altering the Arrays and Function Calls exceptions?

I'd actually suggest a third style, which is more spacey, though also more natural than the first spacey example:

    {
        "name": "n. Chr.",
        "start": null,
        "offset": 0
    }
]

This is the style required for multiple elements anyway.

That looks fine to me. Originally I brought this up when checking esformatter output on jQuery UI files. I suppose implementing the same style for single item arrays as for multi item arrays should be no problem in esformatter either.

I think we should close this since Scott's third style is already implied by the current style guide, right? If not, I'll open a PR to add this to the guide.
