Hi James,

Could you please let me know if you are planning to implement automatic consumer rebalancing similar to how Scala client does?

In my project we need to ensure that only one member of a consumer group consumes from a topic partition at a time. When that consumer fails, another one should take its place automatically.

That's a good feature. We should add that as another issue item as a feature request. This issue is more on simply adding the automatic tracking within the consumer. I'll create a new issue.

Hi James. Is there any update on supporting consumer offset tracking? Am I correct that I would get an error such as "Error Code 3: UnknownTopicOrPartition" currently?
