Hey, we do have rate-limits and soon we're going to lower them even further. We were waiting for our dashboard and API authentication system to be ready. Once they are live to get higher limits a user will have to become a member and contribute to the community by hosting probes.
This by itself should stop any potential rate-limits abuse from happening. Plus it gives us the ability to ban users more easily.
Regarding HTTP requests, we were very careful. On top of checking multiple blacklists we also limit the maximum GET response size to 20kb, making it impossible to be used for proxying, plus we block POST requests. The main use-case we're targeting is performance testing.
Overall I don't think there is anything worrisome happening at the moment, but thanks for raising the issue :)
