This sounds really interesting and ambitious. I'd be interested how much weight you plan on giving each factor. Also how to quantify/keep track of things like coaching staff -- which positions? How many years experience? Etc.

Looks great!

Since you have got a lot of data, I would advise you to maybe break you project in smaller bits that are more manageable for a week time.

I really like the idea and a think hockey fans will love it :). I do agree with Olaya that it seems like a lot of data, but I guess it is more manageable for you since you follow the sports. It sounds great and I can picture the horizontal graph you mentioned with the different colors.

I manually compiled the 2015-16 season stats from each team into an excel file which is my entire data set. For the most part I have cleaned all of the data (with a few exceptions :) ). Then, I split the data up into four different data frames for each time where I then ran statistical analyses and selected individual stats to examine (regarding each teams' top line). I'm working on creating my first graph using this data set that I created. My findings so far have suggested that North Dakota's top line generated the most points (including goals and assists) with Denver as a close second. North Dakota won this years National Championship after advancing 4-2 over DU in the Frozen Four. Quinnipiac's top line comes in third with points, the team finished second after losing to North Dakota in the National Championship. Boston College's top line finished last in points and the team lost to Quinnipiac in the Frozen Four. Points are just one of many stats to analyze between the four teams, especially when considering that only one out of the three players from the top line will be returning for the upcoming 2016-17 season for BOTH Denver and North Dakota (The other players signed entry-level contracts with the NHL).

Hi there, I'm the Playfair Bot! Would you mind posting the appropriate checklist in the main body of your issue? You might have posted it as the first comment, but it turns out it works way better in the actual body of the issue - just go up to the veeery top right and click the pencil icon to edit. You'll probably want to edit the comment to copy the checklist, then edit the original issue to paste it in. Thanks! ๐Ÿ™
