If you're using a packaged version then you'll have to match the C++17 build in your project. If you're building libpqxx yourself then you should specify the newer version of C++ that you want when you build it
from libpqxx.
Thanks a lot for clarifying this. I switched to building it locally now. Older versions didn't have this problem though. It would be nice, to be able to use the packaged versions in the future again.

@siganos there is a change lined up for the next libpqxx release that will eliminate an important cause of such incompatibilities across C++ versions.
It was an unhappy interaction between a change in the build system, and the library making use of std::source_location
where available.
