What's the proper way to set the value of a GtkScale object?

The "proper" way to set it is s[:value] = 7. The existence of value is a mistake in GAccessor, although the lack thereof is also a deficiency in GAccessor :)

edit: why doesn't it have a value property?! oh well, i guess it's just an issue with GAccessor. Since G_ is still in beta form, it's not really that surprising right now :/

That's what I assumed too, but annoyingly GtkScale doesn't have a value property.

Yes. This is always done using an gtkadjustment

this file is actually in many cases the best documentation.

In my project I use GtkBuilder and therefore my code only touches GtkAdjustments while the Scales are all in the UI file. The link between Scale and Adjustment can be done in Glade without any code involved.
