Excellent! I suspected you were thinking about it, but I filed this because we had done so for our other TODOs.

Opening issues is good for getting me to get stuff finished. I hadn't really started coding until you opened this. Almost all of the work was in reworking GValues to support it. It's still named signal_connect, however it now supports anonymous functions and specifying the argument types is optional (although the calling convention of the corresponding julia function will change slightly depending on the usage).

(note: dropping the type argument from gobject[:sometype] is now much easier to implement, although since it would then become a runtime value, it would incur a moderate runtime performance penalty, since it requires quite a few lookups to decide the type)
