Are you using the latest Gtk release or master? The @
syntax has not been part of a released version
from gtk.jl.
According to Pkg.status()
I have Gtk 0.5.0
. I checked but did not see any tagged releases at https://github.com/JuliaLang/Gtk.jl so I assumed that the README there would be applicable. I'm inferring from your question that was a bad assumption?
from gtk.jl.
Yes, the README visible on the frontpage applies to master, which has seen a lot of API churn as various ideas were being tested. Gtk 0.5.0 was the last release version
from gtk.jl.
Got it. I'm looking at the readme in my cache now. Thanks. If there is no tag for the 0.5 release, I wonder where I would have looked to know this...other than my cache of course.
from gtk.jl.
And by the way, 0.5 is working great. Thanks!

ah, i forgot git doesn't push tags by default. I've fixed that now. you may want to use master instead of 0.5. the API is likely to be stabilizing now, and it has many more features.
(which makes me think i should just tag the 0.6 release now...)
from gtk.jl.
Right. That would be one of my least favorite git features if I could ever
claim to be a git guru. :) Browsing the Gtk.jl commits, I did get the
impression that master has been stable for a while. Thanks!
