Strange. I'm on OS X. Tested with 7.4.488, OS default vim (7.3), and nvim (0.0.0-alpha+201503040021), still not seeing the problem.
Also, no problem on 7.4.52 + Ubuntu 14.

Strange indeed. Problem appears when I run Vim in xterm, but disappears when I run it in urxvt or in console.
Looks like it's not a peekaboo bug. Sorry for noise.
