Still appears to be an issue. I'm setting my data only in my on-type so on-type is firing and opening when ng-model is bound and it is opening the options. Not cool! :) I can probably just put a check into the function to see if I'm loading = true and no set the data yet. That just seems tedious. Without reading the code to see what is up I thought I add my voice here. Why is this the default behavior? You know that the model is going to have to bind at least once if this is used on something other than a new data entry form.
