"this" in Class Controller Event Handlers does not point to controller instance

Little update: what other extensions seem to be doing is that they call back via angular's:

functionCall: function(fnGetter, contextGetter) {
...
}

Going to close this. The way around it is to use:

var _this = this;

TestController.prototype.select = function () {
_this.testVar = true;
};
