First off, I'm not actually someone who is maintaining this project, so take this comment as helpful advice instead of the mandate of heaven. The regular expression modifiers are omitted as per the spec. There's more of a discussion on the mailing list.

If this is something you believe should be in the spec, I suggest piping up in that group because they're dictating what the client is supposed to do.

I believe you can do this via the internal option setting - ie. /(?iU:(.)[a-z])/. If that does not work, please provide a use-case where you would need case-insensitive + ungreedy support.
