LibreSSL is used by default in High Sierra and later.
$ openssl version
So install Open SSL with Homebrew.
$ brew install openssl
$ brew info openssl
Then, set Path.
$echo 'export PATH="/opt/homebrew/opt/openssl@3/bin:$PATH"' >> ~/.zshrc
$ source ~/.zshrc
from dassie.
The Dassie dev server now:
- generates Ed25519 node keys internally without using OpenSSL
- uses RSA for other certificates
That means these steps should no longer be necessary.

Note that this is applicable to all MacOS users, not just M1
