Ran into this too. The library is naively passing html_tree to Floki which for whatever reason is nil in some cases.

Haven't looked into why sometimes it does this, probably when it had issues parsing the article.
For now I've just wrapped my own function that calls this in a try raise to catch the error and handle it.
