I think this would add a bit of character and humor to the guide. We should come up with some technical jargon around this.

LOL this is pretty funny. The reason I started using the :] was because in the way old days in AIM, whenever I'd use the normal smiley face :) AIM would replace the smiley face with this goofy looking face that annoyed the crap out of me, so I switched. I guess since I started using :], other authors started using it too for consistency.

It would be a funny thing to add in the guide though to keep it lighthearted/not totally serious. Someone should come up with a funny description/fake reason for this. I'll leave this to people funnier than me, like @elephantronic ;]
