Thing is, if you accidentally press the power button, you have a cue that the device is awake (consuming battery power) and waiting for you to interact with it. If that was not there, you would likely not notice and needlessly drain the battery. That is a worse problem than having a message on screen for a few seconds.

That is what i think Frenzie would say.

I think I'd say you could effect the same thing popping it up after e.g. 30 seconds if that's indeed the case. ;-p

Edit: but on Kobo false wake up prevention should kick in by then if you haven't touched anything.

I see, I did not thought about this as I have a flip cover and the power button is situated in the bottom so it is unlikely that the kindle might wake up accidentally.

And the brightness level of the sleeping screen and the screen after pressing the button is different so if I see that the screen is turned on, then I'll know it. I carry my kindle in a laptop bag, since I don't want the kindle to be pressured by another thing, I keep my bag moderately filled so accidental button tap wouldn't happen most probably 🤔

I'm not saying it does or doesn't on Kindle.

you can also wake them up with magnets, if I put mine naked next to my iPad (in a rucksack), for sure it is on when I take it out.

that might be not necessarily noticeable outdoors, or maybe under other circumstances.

that's more like him.
