Just tested this and pycairo supports iteration:

pycairo

>>> import cairo
>>> m1 = cairo.Matrix()
>>> m1
cairo.Matrix(1, 0, 0, 1, 0, 0)
>>> list(m1)
[1.0, 0.0, 0.0, 1.0, 0.0, 0.0]
>>> 

cairocffi

>>> import cairocffi
>>> m1 = cairocffi.Matrix()
>>> m1
<cairocffi.Matrix object at 0x7facf9cb9550>
>>> list(m1)
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module>
TypeError: 'Matrix' object is not iterable

Oh, you meant cairo.Matrix(*m1), I was thinking of cairo.Matrix(m1).

pycairo actually implements item access, which it turns makes matrices iterable:

>>> cairo.Matrix(xx=2)[0]
2.0

I’ll add this, but in the meantime you can use m.copy().
