Good questions.
I'm currently working on trying to get things updated to 3.28 land with all deprecations fixed.

I've got a ways to go, but something will have to change for the new ember ways.

Heya @allthesignals, I finally got around to merging the 3.28 updates and fast-followed with the 4.0 updates.
Published 2.0 since we dropped support for < ember 3.24.

I looked into how we might change ember-mapbox-gl to be more modern Embery.
I think what we'd ultimately want is heavy use of Effects (which don't exist yet). Turns out 4.0 didn't actually drop classic components or EmberObject, so the add-on code only needed minor changes.

I'd also be very interested to hear if the community is still interested in ember-mapbox-gl being maintained.
I don't personally currently use it at work anymore, nor does it look like I'll have a use in the near future.
Most of my upcoming work will lie in Flutter land.
I also suspect that the license change for mapbox-gl-js@2 may have depressed continued use of ember-mapbox-gl.
maplibre-gl-js is a still open fork if support for that is something in which people are interested.

I guess this is all just a rambling way of saying that my current plans are that ember-mapbox-gl is mostly in maintenance mode in which I keep ember deps update-to-date and merge bug fixes.
