Whats the guidance on lowercase vs uppercase?

There's no official guidance, I think new flags will be taken on a case-by-case basis for shorthand. In general, I think I prefer to avoid shorthand (single letter) flags because I find it hard to remember what they mean if I pull up an old usage of a command from my history. With that said, happy to consider requests for commonly used and therefore obvious flags to get shorthands, like this one.
