Can you try with the current git please? It should hopefully be fixed in the current version.

Looks like it works :) The new icon change is still showing though no matter the config.

Also, if one tries to sfwbar -f existing_but_invalid_config it just fails silently. Shouldn't there be some message about invalid config?

The original issue is fixed so feel free to close this and I can open a new one for the fail silently if you would like.

The silent failure is somewhat intentional, but can probably be handled more gracefully. sfwbar could in theory be running with no layouts and function as a task switcher or a window placer. That said, if there are no layouts, so switcher and no placer defined, we should probably bail with an error.
