Maybe with the first one? I think the match API needs some clean up in general, and in addition the duplication issue needs to be fixed.

didn't really know where to report this, since the changes here are not merged yet. the CoreText implementation has a problem with following file. besides that the font is only shown as rectangles, it also horrible lags. the lag might only occur when using the OS X bundle.

Hey Akemi, I plan to restart working on this stuff again very soon. First I need to get some stuff done on mpv (I have been a bad maintainer lately).

I updated the list in first post. fontselect now has fontconfig, directwrite and coretext backends. The first two are known to work well, while coretext has various issues.

There are some smaller open questions as well.

• Do we need full Unicode-aware case-insensitive string comparisons (aka string collation)?
• Is the fallback selection interface sensible?

For the time being, the code lives at grigorig/libass.
