@ameadev I'll reopen because I think this needs reworking.
-
In order to implement the box, you had to disable column sorting by commenting out its code. If I de-comment this code, this time the textbox stops working. This is not an acceptable solution: both need to work.
-
In your current implementation, the checkbox at the top of the table selects all experiments, not just the ones that are visible. The checkbox should only have an effect on experiments that are visible.
-
Instead of refreshing the display every time a key is pressed, there should be a button beside the box that triggers the refresh of the table.
-
The box should be more robust regarding user input. If I write invalid characters, the code throws Javascript errors in the console. It should also be tolerant with useless spaces.

Ranges don't work with numbers of two digits. If I type
10
, I see experiment 10, but if I type9-10
I see nothing. -
We should be able to mix ranges and lists, i.e. be able to write things like
1,3,5-7,9,11-13
.

@ameadev I made a couple of minor modifications; however, there is one thing that still doesn't work: if I filter to see only experiment 1, click on the topmost checkbox, and then clear the filter, all experiments are selected. Only 1 should be selected.
