I'm so sorry to hear that. I'm not a dev, but I can tell you that Linux Mint may or may not read your keyboard and trackpad via the same cable. So, since maybe the trackpad and keyboard are hooked together, Linux may not recognize your keyboard's input. Please contact your computer manufacturer for help :(

I was just about to answer "choose Mouse & Trackpad" from the mneu with the Menu-key, navigate through the dialog using Tab/Shift-Tab, cursor keys, Space, Enter and Escape.
BUT that doesn't work as expected, and there are no accelerator keys to activate special setting captions/boxes/values. :-(
