Alright. I'm not a dev, but I can try my best to help you :)

• Try updating your PC to the latest version of Linux. No, not via mintupgrade, but updating the actual Linux kernel/ramdisk. Then update via mintupgrade.
• You can try using different plugins/software to keep the PC alive, instead of relying on Cinnamon's power applet. (I have a similar issue on #11986, it's also glitching for a reason)
• Try waiting for a dev.
• Can you send a screenshot? I may be able to help :D
• Have a Windows multi-boot (Windows is a bit better for these enviroments)
• Use another Linux version (stay on your current version UNTIL a dev says you should. This is NOT a replacement - listen to the devs instead of this sh*tty ol' hedgehog haha :)

but the UI is misbehaving, not my setup, because there is (at least) a line of code missing in this section:

cinnamon/files/usr/share/cinnamon/cinnamon-settings/modules/cs_power.py

Lines 615 to 619 in 0d9a16f

	critical_options = [
	("shutdown", _("Shut down immediately")),
	("hibernate", _("Hibernate")),
	("nothing", _("Do nothing"))
	]

this line should be added:

    ("suspend", _("Suspend")),

however i suspect the devs do not want to add it. (or maybe it was gnome devs that were against it? let's hope.)

At this point, a PR is suggested. Try opening one (fork the repo first, modify what you need and then open a PR), explain the same issue and devs should help you. If not, sue their ass!! haha :)
