However, this leads to the entire icon library of 7+ MB to be included in the app bundle, not only that icon that is actually used.

It's important to distinguish that this is only the case during development. After the project is built for production, only the icons you use will end up in the bundle.

I do agree with the sentiment, though. The documentation should be updated to change the recommended usage to use deep import paths to improve dev-server load times (and build times).

Isn't there some plugin which can solve this? I remember that antd used a babel plugin to handle this kind of issue: https://www.npmjs.com/package/babel-plugin-import

Does anyone know anything similar for vite/sveltekit?
