One question though, should this feature support arbitrary vulgar fractions via Unicode super/subscripts?

I was thinking of just the ones they have special characters for (ad-hoc ones are likely to be less pretty in fixed-width fonts).
If you end up making this change:
- It should be noted in the README (in the "what's new" section)
- It should have a toggle in the configuration file
