Well, no need to feel bad, as cTiVo doesn't actually do the return trip. There's another app called pyTivo that can provide that ability. Alternatively, you can just reach across directly from the new TiVo to the old one from the Niw Playing list.

I think you're right; AFAIK, it won't work, but you could just activate it for a month for $10.

I know. I think it’s just extortion that they don’t offer a direct-cabled batch transfer or cloud-based migration path for recorded programs, and then they force you to pay an additional $10 to get your recordings over to the new system. What other hard drive in the word works this way?? (Thanks for your help though. You’ve been great.)
