Tried moving to async, but hit these problems:

async-stdvstokio
The former is used by cacache, while the latter is being used by reqwest.. Usingasync-stdseems to be working, but I had issues with non-terminating programs.. -
surfinstead ofreqwest
Worked great, but I hit strange errors, seems to be related to the underlyinglibcurlor the usage ofisahc.. Needs more work

Naive tests show no performance improvements, only regressions, closing for now
