As the team lead and the visionary, developed a plagiarism detector using Java, Dictionary.com API and Swing to detect if the central idea of the document, instead of just the content, has been plagiarized. Processes involved data cleaning, synonym gathering, word linking, KMP algorithm for pattern matching etc.
Analyzed news articles from newswire’s newsroom to find patterns and analyze trends with respect to location, categories, tags and timelines of articles. Used Python to develop the analyzer and various libraries to scrape, analyze and visualize the trends.
