Hello,
Check this issue:
http://code.google.com/p/macosx-nosleep-extension/issues/detail?id=26
Is it the feature you want to see in NoSleep?
Pavel.

Try to combine the NoSleep with a standart OS sleep delay feature.
It'll be great if you provide a feedback on how it is usable.

Dear all,
having the same wish. I have tried different power settings and NoSleep
running, but whenever I close the lid my computer goes to sleep after ~5-7
seconds. I have not modified any NoSleep default setting and I am running
10.6.8. Any comments is this expected behavior or not.

I'm running Mac OS 10.7.4 on a MacBook Air 2010 and have definitely never had
NoSleep fail. You should try upgrading your OS.

On 10.8 this appears to in fact be the default behavior depending on your power
settings.
For example, on battery, if I activate NoSleep & close the lid, as after 5
minutes the computer will sleep, as there is no activity & the Energy Saver
settings tell it to sleep after 5 minutes.
This surprised me - I expected NoSleep to essentially keep the laptop awake
until the battery died. It would be nice to be able to switch between the two
types of functionality without going into the Energy Saver settings.

I definitively share the same need of this enhancement and it could be even
more 'complicated': manage the sleep depending by the battery charge level
instead of the time.
By the way, I wonder (my ignorance, i give it) why the behaviour when I forget
running my MB on batteries, it activates a kind of procedure of safe shut off,
remembering all his state, and once I reconnect the charger, it slowly wakes up
again with greyed up screen till anything paged on the HD is recharged on RAM,
but this is not the case when I'm using NoSleep.

Hello Gian Marco,
Nice idea to go to sleep mode when a battery goes below the specified level.
Thanks!
Hm, could you describe the difference a little more? Just to be sure, when
nosleep is inactive and battery is draining, does your display opened during
this time?
When you power on your computer after a long period with nosleep activated,
does it boots with a clean session? What about the display, was it closed, or
opened as in previous case?
May be the os can hibernate only from a sleep mode, and as nosleep prevents a
system from sleep, so it probably prevents system from hibernate.
But your idea should fix it. We'll see it soon.

Hi Pavel,
Wanted to chime in and say that on a MacBookPro9,2 system running Mountain
Lion, the system still hibernates properly when the battery is fully drained.
Several times, I have accidentally left NoSleep enabled and put my MBP into my
bag, only to find hours later that the battery was dead; when I applied power,
it "resumed" properly.
I've just upgraded to Mavericks, and I'm sure at some point in the near future,
I'll accidentally forget NoSleep again, and find out if this is still the case!

I'd like to chime-in for this feature. I have the same problem - once in a
while I forget to turn off NoSleep when I put my laptop into my backpack. And
then surprised by a battery at zero percent Monday morning.
Just a simple configuration option of "Maximum NoSleep lifetime" is all I need
- I would set it for 2-3 hours.
Triggering on battery level is also an excellent idea.

Agree with other posters - for me nosleep is about moving from one conference
room to another - I need it to be active for maximum one hour, for example.
Would be great to have this feature. I've just sent you 10 USD via my wife's
paypal to show you how important it is to me. :)
