It wasn't planned but I would like to see it done as well. I don't have much time now to work on it but when I find time I will try to add this option.

In order to make my job a bit easier do you think you could fill out in a bit more detail how you would expect this to be configured?

I wish to use the three properties "labelOutlineColor", "labelOutlineWidth" and "labelOutlineOpacity", wich comes from the OpenLayers Vector Style class. These three properties are also currently used to define a text halo in OpenLayers.

What is the status of this issue ? Is it easy implementable? Any hints to provide if we want to try to implement it ? thx in advance.
