frankly, if we could reuse an existing connection object, i'd be a very happy panda

well, if i have it, i might as well. I'm using it with mongoid and on heroku, so can't have more than one database...

as of version 0.7.7 you can specify a username and password.
I haven't tested it on heroku but it should work
from dragonfly.
