I think we should protect the name of the room by default for new public rooms, as I'm not sure I want randoms to happily rename the room when I'm not around. At least for private rooms I'm more likely to trust the participants.

(Moved to SPEC as the issue here is to decide /what/ the defaults should be. Implementing this in synapse should be easy.)

As I was invited to many rooms, I can't always guess who's behind the room by it's name. Therefore I wanted to ask, if this topic got any further?
A feature similar to the /myroomnick - setting an individual room name for myself, at least from my perspective, would be sufficient instead of changing the name for all folks and changing default behaviors.
