@vertoe This is a really good question. The upstream is not missing - Encompass is a different product based on Electrum, rather than just a "fork". The commit history is intact. (And credit to Authors and contributors!)

Encompass is based on Electrum (master not fully up to date w/ 2.0) - and will be updated to electrum 2.0 codebase) Work is already in progress to update our codebase(s) to Electrum 2.0 base.

However, as Encompass grows, we'll see significant divergence, We do not intend Encompass to be a multi-currency clone of Electrum, but rather a new product with a solid codebase. We will, however, generally track upstream development, and provide clean lines of divergence so that A) plugins can be shared between Encompass and Electrum, and B) code can easily be shared and merged.

Finally - if we directly for Encompass on github, we cannot see how many are actively working on Encompass - the "fork" number up to the upper right hand corner would represent all the Electrum forks known to github - including forks from folks working on Electrum to forks for altcoins to ??

We can probably discuss more and more in-depth on IRC in #mazaclub - I'm usually around from about 6am-8pm UTC-8 - be interested to find out more about what you and @ELM4Ever would like to see - Darkcoin is very important to me, mazaclub, and Encompass, and I'd like to talk to you guys a little more.
